Should You Watch It?

If you enjoy older-woman/younger-man romances with kissing, affection, early relationship development, and an actual marriage before the finale, this one has plenty to offer.

The biggest catch? Family secrets, communication problems, and an unpleasant divorce scare complicate what initially looks like a healing romance.

At least the ending actually delivers. ❤️

My Review

Apparently, I watched another older-woman/younger-man romance and had to double-check that detail. 😂

And yes, I remembered correctly!

Deep Affection Eyes follows Ye Meng, a career woman in her thirties who quits her job and returns to her hometown. There, she meets Li Jinyu, a mysterious younger man who initially keeps his distance.

Ye Meng pursues him, while Li Jinyu struggles with insecurities and a difficult family history.

But this isn't just a straightforward romance. Their relationship eventually becomes tangled in an investigation surrounding Ye Meng's mother's death and Li Jinyu's powerful family.

There's also a significant change in their relationship halfway through the drama.

They get married surprisingly early!

By Episode 12, they've already registered their marriage. Unfortunately, being married doesn't magically solve their communication problems.

In Episode 16, Ye Meng presents divorce papers after discovering how much Li Jinyu has concealed from her.

Thankfully, they reconcile in Episode 18, and their marriage survives.

The drama combines an affectionate relationship with some fairly heavy family conflict. There's kissing, physical affection, an implied wedding-night consummation, and an eventual pregnancy.

So while the romance has its difficult moments, the final relationship status is not ambiguous.

Does Deep Affection Eyes Have a Happy Ending?

Yes — Happy Ending. Ye Meng and Li Jinyu remain married and together; Ye Meng becomes pregnant in Episode 26. The baby has not been born onscreen.

Yes — Happy Ending.

Ye Meng and Li Jinyu survive the dangerous confrontation involving his mother and remain married.

Episode 26 takes place after a six-month time jump. Ye Meng discovers she's pregnant, and Li Jinyu is delighted about becoming a father.

Their dog, Ping'an, is also part of their family.

The drama ends with the couple looking forward to their future together.

The baby has not been born onscreen by the finale. Ye Meng is pregnant.

Do They Break Up?

No confirmed completed divorce. Ye Meng presents divorce papers in Episode 16, and they reconcile in Episode 18. Their marriage survives, but the romance has serious marital conflict.

There is no confirmed completed divorce.

However, their relationship faces serious marital conflict. Ye Meng presents divorce papers in Episode 16, and they reconcile in Episode 18.

Do not describe this as a completely conflict-free or breakup-free romance.

Final Rating: 3.5/5

Another older-woman/younger-man drama for my watch history. 😂

This one has an established relationship well before the finale, an actual marriage, romantic affection, and a definite happy ending.

Just don't mistake it for completely uncomplicated fluff. That Episode 16 divorce scare is very real, even though the marriage survives.

Ending classification: Happy Ending. ❤️
