My Review
Okay, this is another one of those dramas where I know I watched the entire thing, I remember the couple, and then my brain apparently decided the actual plot was unnecessary information. 😂🤦♀️
Put Your Head on My Shoulder is basically cute cohabitation fluff with a socially awkward physics genius slowly realizing he has a girlfriend problem. 😂
Situ Mo is about to graduate and has absolutely no idea what she wants to do with her life. Through a series of circumstances, she ends up living with Gu Weiyi, a brilliant physics student who is extremely intelligent academically and substantially less intelligent when women are involved. 😂
Their accidental cohabitation becomes the heart of the story.
And honestly, that is pretty much the appeal of this drama.
There isn't some enormous conspiracy, revenge scheme, murder mystery, palace coup, or man getting stabbed while protecting his woman. 😭
It's just two young people living together, falling for each other, being awkward, getting jealous, figuring out careers, and eventually building a life together.
❤️ Situ Mo & Gu Weiyi
Their relationship is definitely the reason to watch.
Gu Weiyi starts developing feelings and becomes hilariously bad at expressing them.
At one point he tries using math and physics to confess to her, and Situ Mo basically thinks he's giving her homework. 😭😂
Sir.
Just say I LIKE YOU.
He gets jealous of Fu Pei, Situ Mo gets jealous when another woman gets close to Gu Weiyi, and there are several moments where these two clearly like each other while simultaneously behaving as though romantic communication is advanced quantum mechanics. 😂
Thankfully, it doesn't become one of those dramas where we're waiting until the final episode for somebody to admit they have feelings.
They become an official couple around the middle-late portion of the drama, rather than saving the entire romance for the ending. ❤️
💋 Chemistry & Kissing
The romance is more adorable and fluffy than 🔥🔥🔥.
There is an earlier drunken/accidental kiss that Gu Weiyi does not properly remember afterward, while Situ Mo certainly does. 😂
Once they're officially together, we get actual couple behavior and proper kisses instead of the drama suddenly forgetting that romance exists.
This isn't what I'd call an intensely passionate C-drama, especially compared with some of the short dramas we've been watching lately 👀🔥, but the relationship is affectionate and genuinely cute.
😂 Gu Weiyi: Brilliant Scientist, Romantic Disaster
This is probably one of the funniest parts of the show.
Gu Weiyi can handle physics.
Gu Weiyi cannot handle Situ Mo. 😂
He needs advice.
He overthinks things.
He tries to apply logic to romance.
His attempts to confess are unnecessarily complicated.
And then jealousy enters the equation and suddenly Mr. Physics becomes much more obvious. 😂
I also like that once they become a couple, he is very clearly into her.
There isn't a prolonged hot-cold phase where he spends five episodes pretending he doesn't care.
🙄 The Fu Pei Situation
Early on, Situ Mo has unresolved feelings/history involving her longtime friend Fu Pei, so there is some triangle-ish nonsense.
Thankfully, it does not dominate the whole drama.
That situation eventually gets resolved, and the story clearly moves toward Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi.
So we don't spend the entire drama wondering which man she's choosing.
Thank God. 😂
💔 Breakup & Separation
There is NO actual breakup.
There are:
- jealous moments
- arguments
- brief sulking
- misunderstandings
- some late conflict involving Gu Weiyi's plans to study abroad
But Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi remain a couple.
Do not label their disagreements as a breakup.
Gu Weiyi eventually goes abroad to Germany, creating a temporary geographic separation, but this is not a breakup.
Situ Mo later joins him.
So this passes my breakup test. 😂✔️

⭐ Final Thoughts — 3.5/5
I think 3.5/5 makes complete sense for this one.
It's sweet. It's fluffy. The leads are cute together. The relationship actually progresses, they become an official couple well before the ending, there's kissing, no real breakup, and we get an unquestionably happy married ending. ❤️
But this also isn't one of those dramas that apparently branded itself permanently onto my brain because clearly I forgot almost the entire damn plot. 😂😭
That says something.
**Cute? Yes. ❤️
Comfortable? Yes.
Healthy overall romance? Yes.
Gu Weiyi being an adorable physics idiot? Absolutely. 😂
Life-changing masterpiece that I remember years later? Apparently not. 🤣**
