Should You Watch Reset?
Yes, especially if you enjoy mysteries, time loops, suspense, and leads who work together to solve problems.
The biggest romantic strength is the natural development of trust and affection between Xiao Heyun and Li Shiqing.
The biggest drawback for romance-first viewers is that their relationship does not become official until the finale. There is genuine romantic payoff, but it is limited compared with a romance-focused C-drama.
For viewers looking for a short thriller with a resolved mystery and a happy ending, Reset is worth considering.
Does Reset Have a Happy Ending?
Yes — Happy Ending. Xiao Heyun and Li Shiqing prevent the explosion, escape the loop, survive, and end together as a dating couple.
Yes. Reset has a Happy Ending, and the main couple ends up together.
In Episode 15, Xiao Heyun and Li Shiqing successfully prevent the bus explosion, ending the deadly time loop.
The passengers survive, the disaster is avoided, and the truth behind the bombing is exposed.
Before the final successful rescue, the two leads acknowledge their romantic feelings. Xiao Heyun asks Li Shiqing to be his girlfriend, she accepts, and they share a real kiss.
The finale leaves them together, holding hands and moving forward with their lives.
Ending Classification: Happy Ending. ❤️
Do They Break Up?
No romantic breakup. Their disagreements and reversed deaths in failed loops are not relationship breakups; there is no permanent death separation.
No. There is no established romantic relationship breakup.
They experience disagreements, repeated deaths in unsuccessful timelines, dangerous situations, and the possibility of permanently losing each other.
However, these events are not conventional romantic breakups.
Their emotional connection develops throughout the series, and they finally establish their relationship in Episode 15.
No last-minute romantic breakup. No permanent death separation. ❤️
Imagine getting on a bus, dying in an explosion, waking up, and realizing you have to do the whole thing AGAIN. 😭
And again. And again.
Welcome to Reset, where public transportation has officially become everybody's worst nightmare. 😂
I finished this 15-episode Chinese time-loop thriller and gave it 4/5.
Unlike the usual romance-centered Chinese dramas, Reset builds its story around a mystery. College student Li Shiqing and game designer Xiao Heyun become trapped in a repeating period of time surrounding a deadly bus explosion.
Every attempt to prevent the disaster reveals something new. They have to investigate the passengers, understand the explosion, and work out how to prevent another tragedy.
Their relationship develops alongside the investigation, with the two gradually learning to trust and protect each other.
And yes, for anyone wondering whether there is actual romance in this thriller, there is! Just don't expect a full-blown romantic drama with kissing every other episode. 😂

Reset offers something different from a conventional romance drama: a mystery involving repeated timelines, two people trying to save lives, and a romantic connection that grows under extraordinary circumstances.
There is a proper happy ending, no established relationship breakup, and a confirmed couple by the finale.
Just remember: the suspense takes center stage, and most of the romantic payoff is saved for the final episode.
