Ending classification: Happy Ending for Yu Meng / Ambiguous-Open Romantic Ending.

Should You Watch The Vanishing Beauty?

If you enjoy watching a woman discover that her marriage is practically a criminal organization disguised as domestic bliss, this drama has plenty to offer. 😂

The revenge, betrayals, and changing alliances are entertaining. Li Yitong's Yu Meng gradually becomes stronger, and the villains make it incredibly easy to root against them.

The downside? Some schemes are more convenient than convincing, and the romance doesn't deliver the kind of unmistakable relationship payoff I generally prefer.

My final verdict: 3.5/5. Worth watching for the revenge, acting, and increasingly outrageous marriage conspiracy. Watch it primarily for Yu Meng reclaiming her life, not for a romance-heavy happy ending.

My Thoughts: HOW MANY LIES CAN ONE HUSBAND TELL?! 😭

Imagine celebrating your fifth wedding anniversary, thinking you married the perfect husband, only to discover that the man has practically made stealing your family's wealth his full-time career.

And apparently, having one woman on the side wasn't enough.

WE HAVE THE ORIGINAL WIFE WORKING AS THE HOUSEKEEPER.

SIR. WHAT KIND OF FAMILY BUSINESS ARE YOU RUNNING?! 😭😂

The Vanishing Beauty follows Yu Meng (Li Yitong), a wealthy influencer whose seemingly perfect marriage to Di Liren (Qiao Zhenyu) unravels after she discovers evidence of infidelity.

But cheating is just the beginning.

Her husband has been working toward taking control of her family's wealth and company, while the woman managing the household has her own deeply suspicious connection to him.

With help from her friends and divorce lawyer Jiao Xu (Chang Huasen), Yu Meng begins fighting back.

And THIS is where the drama becomes interesting.

😭 THE MAID WAS HIS ORIGINAL WIFE?!

Hold on.

You're telling me this man brought his first wife into the house, disguised her as the HOUSEKEEPER, and had her living under the SAME ROOF as his current wife?!

AND THEY'RE BOTH PLOTTING TO STEAL HER FAMILY'S FORTUNE?!

EXCUSE ME?! 😭😂

This wasn't some ordinary cheating scandal.

These two practically turned their marriage scam into a family business!

Imagine trusting someone to look after your home while she's secretly helping your husband rob you blind.

And the husband is walking around acting like he's the most loving, considerate man on the planet!

THE AUDACITY. THE ABSOLUTE AUDACITY. 🙄

I know revenge dramas love their ridiculous twists, but this particular setup deserves an award for shamelessness.

And what makes it worse is how carefully they've arranged everything.

Yu Meng doesn't even realize she's been living inside a conspiracy.

It's one thing to discover your husband is cheating.

It's another to discover that your household staff and your husband are practically operating a coordinated financial scheme against you.

Forget marriage counseling.

SOMEONE CALL A FORENSIC ACCOUNTANT. 😭

❤️ What I Liked

1. Yu Meng Actually Uses Her Brain

Thank goodness we're not spending twenty-eight episodes watching a female lead cry helplessly while everyone manipulates her.

Yu Meng starts out sheltered and far too trusting, but she gradually becomes more strategic.

The perfume trick to identify her husband's affair partner? Creative.

Investigating financial transactions instead of simply confronting him? Even better.

Learning to challenge his control over the family company? NOW we're talking.

Her transformation becomes the foundation of the entire drama.

By the later episodes, she's no longer focused simply on discovering who her husband is sleeping with. She's investigating assets, negotiating business decisions, forming alliances, and working to regain control over her future.

She's not some flawless mastermind. She makes mistakes, and sometimes she gets outmaneuvered.

But she learns.

And by the finale, she's no longer the woman everyone thought they could manipulate.

2. The Villains Are Horrible in an Entertaining Way

Qiao Zhenyu plays Di Liren, a husband whose entire personality seems to be a carefully constructed fraud.

The man smiles, acts considerate, remembers everyone's needs, and somehow manages to make his scheming look like ordinary husband behavior.

It's disturbing precisely because he doesn't need to behave like a cartoon villain.

And then there's Lu Hui, played by Wang Jiajia.

THE HOUSEKEEPER.

THE EX-WIFE.

THE ACCOMPLICE.

What makes Lu Hui more interesting is that her position changes as the story progresses.

She begins as someone involved in the deception but eventually discovers that Di Liren's manipulation goes much further than she realized.

The revelation surrounding her father's death becomes especially important.

Her relationship with Di Liren stops being simply about money, loyalty, or jealousy.

It becomes about uncovering what he did to her own family.

That doesn't erase her involvement in Yu Meng's suffering, but it makes her considerably more complicated.

And Di Liren?

Even when his plans are collapsing, he's still trying to squeeze more money out of everyone.

SIR, YOU'VE ALREADY DONE ENOUGH. 😭

3. The Revenge Is More Than Just Catching a Cheater

What makes this drama more interesting than an ordinary infidelity storyline is the financial exploitation.

We're dealing with company control, hidden assets, suspicious accounting, family manipulation, and deliberate deception.

Yu Meng isn't simply trying to expose an affair.

She's trying to protect her family's livelihood and regain control of her life.

The later corporate conflict adds another layer as Han Guang becomes involved in the company's problems.

Meanwhile, the connections between the various troubled marriages reveal how manipulation and financial dependence can trap people.

And then the women begin working together.

Imagine the wife and the ex-wife having to form an alliance because the same man has manipulated both of them.

THE AUDACITY. 😂

4. The Finale Actually Gives Yu Meng Her Freedom

The best part of the ending isn't another romantic declaration.

It's that Yu Meng finally gets out.

She completes her divorce, continues building her career, and stops allowing her future to depend on a man who has spent years deceiving her.

Meanwhile, Di Liren's past catches up with him.

By Episode 28, his crimes lead to an eighteen-year prison sentence.

And Yu Meng establishes a new business of her own, moving forward with ambitions that no longer depend on Di Liren.

That's a satisfying direction for a story about a woman who spent years believing she already had the perfect life.

🙄 What I Didn't Like

1. Some Plot Twists Are Convenient. VERY Convenient.

The show wants us to believe we're watching elaborate psychological and financial warfare.

Sometimes we are.

Other times, people suddenly obtain information at exactly the right moment, or a plan succeeds because the opposition makes an unbelievably convenient mistake.

Come on, writers. You can't keep calling everything a brilliant strategy when half the universe is helping the plan succeed. 😂

I want Yu Meng to win because she's genuinely clever, not because the villains temporarily misplace their common sense.

2. The Company Storyline Needs Stronger Logic

I enjoy the financial investigation, but the corporate power struggles aren't always convincing.

For a company supposedly filled with experienced executives and shareholders, some decisions feel remarkably easy to manipulate.

The struggles over shares, company debt, competing products, and boardroom influence become increasingly complicated.

But complicated doesn't automatically mean believable.

A little more realism would make the stakes much stronger.

3. There's So Much Betrayal That It Becomes Ridiculous

Husband cheating? Fine, that's our starting problem.

Another woman? Of course.

The housekeeper secretly being his original wife? WHAT?!

And the financial conspiracy keeps expanding.

Then we have another suspicious marriage, psychological manipulation, hidden family secrets, and an increasingly dangerous husband.

At some point, does anyone in this drama know how to have a normal marriage? 😭

The drama is entertaining, but it occasionally feels like a vertical revenge short that someone stretched into a full-length series.

Even the alliances become difficult to take completely seriously at times.

Yu Meng eventually finding common ground with Wen Xiaoxiao and Lu Hui serves the story's theme of women helping women, but the speed of some reconciliations makes the writing feel convenient.

4. The Romance Needed a Stronger Payoff

Jiao Xu has potential as a romantic lead.

He's capable, helpful, and increasingly concerned about Yu Meng. Their professional alliance gives the relationship somewhere to develop.

There are thoughtful moments, including a date scene where he puts aside work, attends to her comfort, and gives her his attention.

Fine. That's cute. ❤️

And as they investigate the conspiracy together, their bond becomes more personal.

However, we also learn that Jiao Xu's involvement was never entirely coincidental.

He initially had his own reasons for investigating the people surrounding Yu Meng, including connections to Weng Xin's situation.

The important difference is that he eventually comes clean, continues helping Yu Meng, and allows her to make her own decisions.

By the finale, his feelings are clear.

But the romance still doesn't deliver a fully established couple.

Jiao Xu confesses in Episode 28 and asks Yu Meng to become his girlfriend.

Rather than immediately agreeing, Yu Meng says she wants something that develops slowly and naturally.

He respects that.

It's sweet, and it makes sense considering what she's survived.

But I still wanted more.

After twenty-eight episodes, a hopeful beginning is not quite the same thing as getting an actual relationship with all the affection and payoff that comes with it.

And because this is already a younger-man romance, the relationship needed to work a little harder to win me over.

For a revenge drama, the ending works.

For a romance lover? I wanted a little extra. 😭

🔥 The Vanishing Beauty Ending Explained

Does Yu Meng Finally Divorce Di Liren?

YES!

Episode 24 is the major milestone.

Yu Meng officially divorces Di Liren after a long struggle involving marital deception, financial manipulation, and her family's business.

The divorce also involves painful financial compromises.

But escaping his control becomes more important than remaining trapped in the marriage while fighting over every asset.

And Di Liren's legal problems are nowhere near finished.

What Happens to Harry?

The danger surrounding Di Liren's schemes becomes much more serious when a fire breaks out at Yu Meng's family home.

Harry attempts to rescue Yu Meng and suffers severe burns.

He survives the immediate crisis and later continues receiving treatment.

His injuries make the consequences of Di Liren's manipulation much harder to dismiss.

This isn't simply a story about stolen money anymore.

People are getting seriously hurt.

What Happens to Lu Hui?

Lu Hui eventually discovers more about Di Liren's involvement in the events surrounding her father's fatal crash.

Their relationship changes dramatically.

In Episode 25, she remarries Di Liren, but the later story reveals that she has her own reasons for remaining close to him.

By Episodes 26–27, she and Yu Meng are cooperating again, working to uncover evidence of his crimes.

In the final episode, Lu Hui confronts him directly.

Di Liren becomes violent, and the situation nearly turns deadly before Yu Meng and Harry intervene.

Years later, the drama gives Lu Hui another encounter with Di Liren after he obtains release from prison for medical treatment.

Because their marriage remains legally intact, she is placed in a position of authority over his care.

And suddenly, the man who spent so long controlling everyone else is the one terrified of what comes next.

Well, well, well. HOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED. 🙄

Does Di Liren Go to Prison?

YES. EIGHTEEN YEARS.

By Episode 28, his criminal actions finally result in punishment.

He receives an eighteen-year prison sentence and a ¥500,000 fine.

Given everything he's done, the conclusion is a far better outcome than watching the writers excuse him with some last-minute apology.

No redemption romance.

No sudden return to the marriage.

Yu Meng gets to leave him behind.

What Happens to Wen Xiaoxiao?

Wen Xiaoxiao returns, apologizes for her earlier part in the betrayal, and completes her studies.

That doesn't undo her choices, but it does give her a future beyond Di Liren's schemes.

What Happens to Yu Meng's Father?

He survives, but his recovery isn't straightforward.

When he regains consciousness, his memories are severely affected.

He believes himself to be much younger and initially cannot properly recognize his wife and daughter.

Yu Meng spends time helping him recover those memories.

It's an important reminder that even though the villain is punished, the family's suffering doesn't magically disappear.

Do Yu Meng and Jiao Xu End Up Together?

Not explicitly as an established couple.

Jiao Xu finally confesses his feelings in Episode 28.

He tells Yu Meng that he likes her and wants her to be his girlfriend.

Yu Meng doesn't give an immediate, straightforward yes.

Instead, she expresses a desire for a slow, steady relationship.

Jiao Xu accepts that.

It's a hopeful romantic conclusion, and the possibility of them becoming a couple is clearly there.

But the drama doesn't show them officially beginning a relationship, getting engaged, or getting married.

So I wouldn't call this a fully confirmed couple ending.

For Yu Meng, the ending is happy.

For the romance, it's open but optimistic.

My Final Verdict — 3.5/5 ⭐

The Vanishing Beauty is an entertaining revenge drama built around one of the most ridiculous marriage conspiracies imaginable.

Seriously, the original wife pretending to be the housekeeper while helping steal the current wife's fortune?

I'm still not over that one. 😭😂

Li Yitong's increasingly calculating Yu Meng is enjoyable to follow, while Qiao Zhenyu and Wang Jiajia make the antagonists entertainingly awful.

The most satisfying part is watching Yu Meng stop relying on the people who have been manipulating her and start making decisions for herself.

Her divorce, Di Liren's punishment, and her decision to build an independent future give the story a meaningful conclusion.

But I still have problems with the writing.

Some plans succeed far too conveniently, the corporate battles occasionally strain credibility, and the amount of betrayal becomes ridiculous.

And then there's the romance.

Jiao Xu is a supportive romantic possibility, and I appreciate that he ultimately respects Yu Meng's choices.

However, waiting until Episode 28 for the confession without a clearly established relationship afterward isn't exactly the romantic payoff I was hoping for.

The female lead gets her happy ending.

The romance gets a hopeful beginning.

Those are two different things.

My final rating: 3.5/5.

Entertaining, occasionally ridiculous, and satisfying as a revenge story—but not quite strong enough in its romance or plotting to earn a higher rating.
