🌸 My Review
Okay, the plot of Affinity is completely unhinged. 😂
We have viruses that make people biologically obsessed with each other, secret experiments, murder investigations, fake identities, revenge, government agencies, forced bonding, random science, people dying, people coming back, and somehow I am supposed to calmly process all of this while Xie Xinxu is trying to inhale Wu Nongyu through her mouth. 😭
Because OMG.
THE KISSING SCENES.
I don't know whether this man wants to kiss her, eat her alive, or just swallow her whole person. 😂🔥
There is kissing…and then there is whatever Cui Yuxin was doing here.
At one point Wu Nongyu basically needs a signal so he will stop and let her BREATHE. Sir. The woman requires oxygen. 😭
The chemistry was definitely one of the strongest things about this drama. Whatever else I can complain about, these two did not kiss like coworkers who met five minutes before filming. 😂🔥
The actual story, though? It became increasingly chaotic. The idea of two people questioning whether their attraction is genuine love or something biologically forced on them was interesting, but the drama kept adding conspiracies, deaths, revenge, betrayals, experiments, and plot twists until I was basically just sitting there going:
Okay. Sure. Why not. 😂
Xie Xinxu is also a MASSIVE red flag. He lies, manipulates things to get close to her, becomes possessive, forcibly kisses her, confines her, and at one point basically decides that if she will not stay because of love, she can stay because he refuses to let her leave. 🚩🚩🚩
But the drama knows exactly what kind of male lead it created. He is obsessive, emotionally abnormal, dangerous, and eventually insanely devoted to her too.
So yes:
Walking red flag.
Also yes:
Excellent kisser.
Life is complicated. 😂
And after ALL of that chaos, the drama gives me an ending people still have to debate.
The final scene strongly suggests that Xie Xinxu returns and reunites with Wu Nongyu, but I do not consider it explicit enough to call this a clean Happy Ending.
