I loved this one. ❤️
Give me great chemistry, a healthy relationship, a ridiculous amount of kissing, gorgeous scenery, and a man who knows exactly what he wants, and apparently I am very easy to please. 😂
Lin Yiyang meets Yin Guo during a snowstorm while they're abroad, and this man basically takes one look at her and goes:
Yep. Her.
No dillydallying. No “Do I like her?” crisis for twelve episodes. No chasing another woman first. No pretending he doesn't care.
He falls for her basically right away and starts pursuing her. 😂❤️
And THAT is one of the things I loved most.
Yin Guo is a professional nine-ball player, while Lin Yiyang is a former snooker prodigy who walked away from professional competition years earlier.
Their romance and the sports story are woven together instead of feeling like two completely separate dramas.
❤️ Lin Yiyang: Sir, You Know What You Want
Lin Yiyang wastes very little time.
This man likes Yin Guo and actually acts like it.
THANK YOU.
I don't need a grown man staring tragically into the distance for twenty episodes trying to determine whether the fluttering in his chest is indigestion. 😭
Lin Yiyang likes Yin Guo.
Lin Yiyang wants Yin Guo.
Lin Yiyang pursues Yin Guo.
Very efficient man. I approve. 😂
And once they're together, he remains incredibly supportive of her career.
Yin Guo isn't reduced to being “the girlfriend of the talented male athlete,” either. She's already an accomplished athlete herself.
Their relationship feels like two people cheering each other forward instead of one person's dreams swallowing the other's.
💋 THE CHEMISTRY
Their chemistry was amazing. 🔥
And unlike some dramas where I spend thirty episodes begging:
“PLEASE. JUST KISS HER.”
…I was FED here. 😂
There is kissing, cuddling, handholding, flirting, affectionate touches, and actual physical intimacy between two people who are supposed to be in love.
Their first real kiss comes around Episode 9, and then the drama actually allows them to continue behaving like a couple afterward.
What a concept! 😭❤️
Wu Lei and Zhao Jinmai also have that quieter kind of chemistry where sometimes they're barely doing anything and you can still feel the attraction.
The looks.
The awkward tension.
Him constantly wanting to get closer to her.
Her getting shy because this is her first relationship.
It worked. 🔥
🗣️ A Relationship Where People COMMUNICATE?!
One of my favorite things about this drama is how healthy their relationship is.
They aren't perfect.
They get jealous.
They occasionally get annoyed.
They're long-distance for portions of the story because of school, tournaments, and their careers.
But they do not break up.
Let me repeat that beautiful sentence:
THEY. DO. NOT. BREAK. UP. 😂👏
There are minor disagreements, but they resolve them instead of stretching everything into six episodes of misery.
They also talk about actual adult things — careers, distance, family, and their future.
THIS is the kind of romance I like.
Problems can exist without the writers making everyone suddenly lose the ability to use words. 🙄😂
🎱 I Actually Liked the Sports Story
Normally a sports subplot could easily turn into:
“Okay okay, put the cue down and go kiss your girlfriend.” 😂
But here, I liked how billiards was woven into the relationship.
Yin Guo specializes in nine-ball.
Lin Yiyang specializes in snooker.
Their careers aren't random decoration either.
His return to competitive snooker is one of his major personal arcs, while Yin Guo continues building her own career.
The sports scenes also give them something to admire about one another besides:
“You are attractive.”
They respect each other's ability, discipline, and ambition.
I liked that a lot.
❄️ THE LOCATIONS 😍
This drama looked gorgeous.
A lot of the story is filmed abroad, including filming in Finland, and the snowy international setting gave the drama such a beautiful atmosphere.
The snow.
The little streets.
The cafés.
The trains.
The restaurants.
The giant winter coats.
Everything looked ridiculously cozy. ❄️❤️
Their relationship starting during a snowstorm abroad also made the whole beginning feel almost magical without becoming fantasy.
I really loved the change of scenery from the usual drama locations.
🥹 Lin Yiyang's Story
Lin Yiyang isn't simply “former athlete decides to play again because girlfriend.”
He had been an extremely talented snooker player but left professional competition when he was younger after a conflict surrounding a referee's decision and the disciplinary consequences that followed.
So his comeback means dealing with something he had left unresolved for years.
Yin Guo doesn't magically fix him.
She gives him a reason to reconsider what he still wants.
That distinction made the storyline work for me.
Breakup Status
NONE.
There are periods when they are geographically apart because of their careers, but they remain a couple.
Thank you, writers. 😭👏
Final Thoughts
This is such an easy romance to love.
They meet.
He falls for her.
He actually pursues her instead of acting emotionally constipated.
They get together fairly early.
They kiss.
A LOT. 💋😂
They communicate.
They support each other's careers.
Nobody decides that “loving you means I must secretly leave you for your own good.”
And the whole thing happens against these gorgeous snowy overseas locations while two attractive people keep staring at each other like they forgot anyone else exists. 😂❤️
I loved their chemistry, I loved the sports element, and I especially loved that their relationship feels stable after they actually become a couple.
Could some parts have been tighter? Sure.
It's thirty episodes, and sometimes it is more interested in atmosphere and romantic moments than moving a complicated plot.
But considering those romantic moments mostly involve Wu Lei kissing Zhao Jinmai, I wasn't exactly suffering. 😂
⭐ 4/5
Healthy romance + excellent chemistry + lots of kisses + supportive couple + no breakup + beautiful scenery = Lady Zhizhi approved. ❄️❤️💋
Reality Check verdict: surprisingly grounded. 🎱😂 Yes — much more than I expected. 😂
