The Voice Had Me. Obviously. 😭😂
I gave Love Me, Love My Voice a 3.5/5. I enjoyed it, but a lot of that enjoyment came from Tan Jianci and Mo Qingcheng.
Gu Sheng admires the famous voice actor Qiang Qing Ci before discovering that he is Mo Qingcheng, who is also a doctor. So we have the voice, the doctor, and a man who actually communicates. The drama understood the assignment. 😂
Once he knows he likes her, he does not spend the entire drama pretending otherwise. He pursues her clearly, treats her well, and acts like he wants a relationship. No hot-and-cold nonsense. No disappearing act. No stupid breakup. Thank you, drama gods. 😂
Tan Jianci Was My Favorite Part
I loved his acting here. Mo Qingcheng is calm, mature, respectful, affectionate, and straightforward, but Tan Jianci gives him enough warmth, humor, confidence, and little reactions that he never feels flat.
He is easy to like without being another emotionally unavailable romance hero we have to spend thirty episodes trying to understand.
And obviously…the voice. 😭😂 His vocal performance matters when the character is supposed to be an elite voice actor. The drama does not have to keep telling me his voice is attractive. I have ears. I noticed. 😂
Zhou Ye Was Fine. The Wardrobe Has Questions to Answer.
I am already a Zhou Ye fan. I did not dislike Gu Sheng; she was okay. She simply did not leave as strong an impression on me as Mo Qingcheng. He was the stronger part of the drama for me.
I already like Zhou Ye, and she is naturally very youthful, so I have questions for whoever styled Gu Sheng. 😭 Some of her outfits felt much too mature and matronly for a university student. There were moments when the wardrobe seemed to age her instead of dressing her like the young college student she was supposed to be.
I kept looking at some of those outfits thinking, “You are in college. Who gave you this?” 😂
Zhou Ye is beautiful, but occasionally the styling department dressed her like somebody’s very elegant auntie heading to Sunday brunch. 😭
Romance & Chemistry
They officially get together around Episode 8. I liked that we actually get to watch them date instead of receiving a relationship five minutes before the credits.
There is hand-holding, hugging, cuddling, feeding each other, travel, dates, and comfortable physical affection. The first kiss comes around Episode 19, with several kisses after that. Their established-couple behavior becomes increasingly natural.
The chemistry, kissing, and skinship are good. This is more sweet and comfortable than intensely spicy, and the relationship stability is excellent.
THEY DO NOT BREAK UP. I feel this deserves its own announcement. 😂
Happy Ending Status & Main Couple Final Status
Happy Ending. Mo Qingcheng and Gu Sheng remain together and are preparing for marriage. Around Episode 31, he talks about their future and essentially proposes.
The two-year time jump is not a breakup or romantic separation. Gu Sheng completes her graduate studies, they have stayed together, and he has prepared a home for their future marriage. Episode 33 gives us wedding photos and a clear future together. Wedding preparations are what is shown; I am not calling the photos a completed wedding ceremony.
Final Thoughts
3.5/5. I liked the drama. I loved Tan Jianci and Mo Qingcheng, and I liked how early they got together and how stable the relationship stayed. Zhou Ye was fine, but Gu Sheng did not grab me nearly as much as the male lead did.
The romance is sweet, there is no breakup, we get to watch them date, and the ending gives us a proposal, a continued relationship after the time jump, and wedding photos.
Very safe romance.
The clothes, however, remain under investigation. 👀😂
