About these assessments

My impressions cover what I watched. Later research is labeled on dropped reviews. Kissing, affection and adult intimacy are separate; coercion does not count as romantic spice. Being apart does not automatically mean a breakup.

A PERSONAL VIEWING JOURNAL

My Review

SO MUCH KISSING. 😂💋

My Little Happiness gets exactly 3.5/5 from me. I finished it, and the thing I remember most? There was SO MUCH KISSING.

At one point, I think I saw a tongue! I actually had to look again because excuse me?? 😂 These are not the usual C-drama kisses where the actors touch lips and suddenly become statues.

Xing Fei and Tang Xiaotian had very good romantic chemistry here. The kissing, affection, physical closeness and comfortable couple behavior made the romance satisfying. Once they get together, they actually behave like a couple. Imagine that. 😂

She Is SO Tiny Compared to Him 😂

Cong Rong looks really tiny next to Wen Shaoqing. She is SO tiny compared to him. Their height difference is dramatic onscreen, and it makes the protective-boyfriend visual especially cute.

He is devoted, protective and persistent. Green flag overall, even if that does not mean every single thing he does is perfect.

She Kept Her Own Dream ⚖️❤️

One thing I loved about Cong Rong: she actually follows her dream of becoming a lawyer. Her mother wanted her studying economics abroad and had a different future planned for her. Cong Rong secretly returns to China, becomes a legal intern and keeps working toward the career she chose, even after conflict with her mother.

I will always give extra points to a female lead who actually follows her dream. I loved that she did not abandon her career just because she fell in love.

The drama keeps that storyline going. By the finale, she has succeeded professionally as a lawyer and can handle cases independently. She gets a love story AND a future of her own. Good.

She got the handsome doctor, the wedding, the babies AND the career she wanted. Good for her. 😂

A Relationship We Can Actually Enjoy ❤️

The romance becomes official around Episode 13, so we have time to enjoy the dating, flirting, kisses and affection before the finale.

There is NO actual breakup. Brief distance, work issues and arguments do not end their relationship. No prolonged romantic separation either. They stay together, and the payoff is clear.

Ending: HAPPY ENDING 💍

Cong Rong and Wen Shaoqing end together and married. Their wedding is shown in Episode 28. We get the marriage, Cong Rong’s professional success and future-family material that includes pregnancy with twins.

Love story? Delivered. Career dream? Also delivered. That is a nice ending.

Final Thoughts ⭐

The overall story was cute and easy to watch, but some portions were simply not exciting enough for me to rate it higher. I liked it; it was not something I absolutely loved.

The romance delivered chemistry, affection, that ridiculous/cute height difference, a stable relationship, marriage, and lots and LOTS of kissing. 😂 Again: I THINK I SAW A TONGUE.

3.5/5 — Finished. And I especially liked that Cong Rong got both her love story and the career she wanted. ❤️

🔎 Reality Check: Cong Rong’s Lawyer Career

Basically plausible, but simplified for television. Becoming a practicing lawyer in China takes more than deciding to study legal material. Applicants generally need legal-profession qualifications, including the National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination, and must satisfy practice requirements such as a year of internship at a law firm.

The Ministry of Justice’s 2018 examination rules tightened education eligibility in Article 9. Article 22 preserves transitional eligibility for qualifying people who enrolled or obtained their education before the rules took effect. A non-law background is therefore not automatically impossible; timing and the applicable rules matter. The Lawyers Law, Article 5 sets further requirements for practice. The drama does not document every credential or step, so this is a conditional plausibility assessment.

Basically plausible career path, heavily C-drama-speedified. 😂
