Seven Upcoming C-Dramas Announced by Tencent Video: New Casts, Romance Trailers, and Historical Stories

Tencent Video's October 28, 2026 promotional showcase delivered more than updates on established drama franchises. The platform also revealed new casting announcements, romance projects, historical productions, and major trailers for several upcoming Chinese dramas.

Among the announcements were official confirmations of Tian Xiwei and Song Weilong's collaboration in Da Tang Bi Zhu Ji, Yang Yang and Chen Duling's new romance Deng Feng Re Wen Ni, and Ao Ruipeng and Wang Yuwen's Qin Wen De Di Ren.

Meanwhile, upcoming productions starring Ding Yuxi, Meng Ziyi, Yang Zi, Liu Yuning, and Zhang Ruoyun received significant new promotional attention.

Here are seven developments worth following.

1. Da Tang Bi Zhu Ji (大唐辟珠记) — Tian Xiwei and Song Weilong

Tencent Video officially confirmed Tian Xiwei (田曦薇) and Song Weilong (宋威龙) as the leads of Da Tang Bi Zhu Ji on October 28.

The historical mystery drama will be directed by Fei Zhenxiang (费振翔).

According to the official announcement, the story will combine investigations into mysteries of the Tang dynasty with a relationship between two people whose lives become intertwined.

The production's promotional message emphasizes uncovering secrets while navigating a dangerous historical world.

This confirmation is particularly significant because the lead pairing had been discussed in entertainment reporting before Tencent Video's formal announcement.

The platform's announcement establishes the actors' participation and director, but does not confirm a premiere date.

Confirmed platform: Tencent Video.

2. Deng Feng Re Wen Ni (等风热吻你) — Yang Yang and Chen Duling

Yang Yang (杨洋) and Chen Duling (陈都灵) are officially set to star in the contemporary romance Deng Feng Re Wen Ni.

The drama adapts the novel by Ji Ji De Mao (唧唧的猫).

Yang Yang will portray Xu Xingchun (许星纯), while Chen Duling takes the role of Fu Xueli (付雪梨).

The production is directed by Li Qingrong and Qu Youning, with Tencent Video and Dongcha Entertainment announced as production partners.

The official announcement describes a relationship shaped by emotional wounds, confrontation, and an enduring connection between the two protagonists.

The drama's official account also released a promotional song announcement featuring Mayday, adding a musical component to the initial campaign.

A filming timetable and premiere date have not been officially established through the casting announcement.

3. Qin Wen De Di Ren (亲吻的敌人) — Ao Ruipeng and Wang Yuwen

Tencent Video confirmed Ao Ruipeng (敖瑞鹏) and Wang Yuwen (王玉雯) as the leads of Qin Wen De Di Ren on October 28.

The announcement presents a contemporary relationship defined by confrontation, attraction, and uncertainty about each person's intentions.

Its promotional messaging suggests that the central relationship will involve competing interests and a struggle to maintain control.

For viewers following Ao Ruipeng's upcoming projects, the announcement adds another contemporary production to his expanding drama lineup.

Wang Yuwen's participation was also confirmed directly by Tencent Video.

The initial announcement establishes the lead pairing but does not provide a confirmed premiere date or complete character information.

Further details about the story and supporting cast should come through future official production announcements.

4. Chongqing Hao (重庆号) — Zhang Ruoyun and Hu Xianxu

One of the showcase's major historical productions is Chongqing Hao (重庆号), starring Zhang Ruoyun (张若昀) and Hu Xianxu (胡先煦).

The drama is produced by Tencent Video and Daylight Entertainment, with Kong Sheng (孔笙) directing and Hou Hongliang serving as producer.

Its story draws inspiration from the real 1949 uprising involving the Chinese cruiser Chongqing.

The production follows young naval personnel facing difficult decisions during a period of political upheaval.

The announced supporting performers include Ma Sichun, Yin Fang, Huang Minghao, Huang Xiaoming, Dong Yong, and Purba Rgyal.

According to The Paper, the production is scheduled to begin filming in November 2026.

That planned filming start should not be confused with confirmation that production has already begun.

An official premiere date has not been announced.

5. Ai Zai Wu Jin Xia (爱在无尽夏) — Ding Yuxi and Meng Ziyi

Ding Yuxi (丁禹兮) and Meng Ziyi (孟子义) received a new promotional spotlight when Tencent Video released the Love Reunited (爱意重逢) trailer for Ai Zai Wu Jin Xia on October 28.

The drama's promotional campaign focuses on reunion, lingering romantic feelings, and the emotional uncertainty between its central characters.

A new couple poster accompanied the trailer, emphasizing the relationship between the two leads.

Both actors participated in the promotional campaign through their official social-media accounts.

The new materials establish the project's romance-focused presentation, but they do not confirm specific relationship milestones or how the story will end.

Tencent Video has not announced a definitive premiere date.

6. Yu Lan Hua Kai Jun Zai Lai (玉兰花开君再来) — Yang Zi and Ou Hao

Yang Zi (杨紫) and Ou Hao (欧豪) lead the historical drama Yu Lan Hua Kai Jun Zai Lai, which released its Half a Lifetime of Storms (半生烟雨) trailer on October 28.

Unlike the fictional historical romances featured elsewhere in Tencent Video's lineup, this production draws from the real-life experiences of Dong Zhujun (董竹君).

The story explores her journey through personal hardship, social change, and the challenges of building an independent life and career.

The new promotional materials also introduce a broader ensemble, including Yang Haoyu, Li Meng, Wu Yue, Li Chengbin, Chi Peng, and Ni Hongjie.

The production's historical background and focus on a prominent woman's life distinguish it from conventional palace romance narratives.

An official premiere date has not been confirmed.

7. Tie Zheng (铁证) — Liu Yuning and Sun Honglei

The upcoming crime drama Tie Zheng (铁证) released its first official trailer on October 28.

The confirmed lead actors include Liu Yuning (刘宇宁), Sun Honglei (孙红雷), Zhang Yifan (张艺凡), and Han Dongjun (韩东君).

The drama is directed by Wu Bai (五百) and written by Chen Yuxin (陈育新).

Its first trailer focuses on criminal investigations, the confrontation between law enforcement and criminal forces, and the difficulty of uncovering the truth.

The footage also emphasizes the responsibility carried by investigators working through complicated cases.

CCTV News promoted the trailer, providing additional confirmation of the production's official promotional release.

Although the newly released footage introduces the show's crime-thriller atmosphere, a definitive premiere date has not been announced.

When Will These Seven C-Dramas Premiere?

Tencent Video has not provided confirmed individual premiere dates for all seven productions.

While the October 28 showcase promoted the platform's 2027 programming slate, inclusion in that presentation should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every production will premiere in 2027.

Similarly, international streaming availability, including U.S. access and English subtitles, must be confirmed separately for each production.

Viewers should rely on official platform announcements rather than speculative online release calendars.

Which Announcements Stand Out?

The seven productions reflect the variety of Chinese drama projects currently being developed and promoted by Tencent Video.

Da Tang Bi Zhu Ji adds another high-profile historical mystery pairing, while Deng Feng Re Wen Ni and Qin Wen De Di Ren introduce new contemporary romance collaborations.

Ai Zai Wu Jin Xia offers a closer look at its emotional reunion storyline, and Yu Lan Hua Kai Jun Zai Lai brings a historical woman's life into focus.

Meanwhile, Chongqing Hao and Tie Zheng represent more serious historical and crime-centered storytelling.

For audiences following upcoming Chinese dramas, the October 28 announcements provide substantial new information about casting and promotional direction.
