A PERSONAL VIEWING JOURNAL

🌸 My Review

My Thoughts

I love the cast. ❤️

That was probably one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed this as much as I did. There are so many actors I like here, everyone looks good, and the family ensemble is fun.

But good lord.

SO. MANY. COUPLES. 😭😂

Every time I got settled into one romance, the drama was basically like:

“Okay! NEXT SISTER!”

It started feeling less like one drama and more like I was watching the Li Family Annual Marriage Convention.

The whole setup revolves around Madam Li and her five daughters, so instead of giving me one main romance and letting me live there peacefully, the drama keeps rotating through everybody’s love life.

And listen, I actually liked several of the couples!

I just felt like I was collecting romances like Pokémon by the end. 😂

Kang Ning and Chai An were the easiest couple for me to latch onto because their enemies-to-lovers dynamic is fun and their relationship actually MOVES. They argue, scheme against each other, get jealous, fall for each other, and are already married fairly early in the drama.

Thank you!

We did not need 35 episodes of someone staring silently across a courtyard before admitting they have feelings. 😂

There is an earlier failed marriage arrangement between them after Chai An’s mother insults Kang Ning’s family, but I would not classify that as a breakup because Kang Ning and Chai An were not yet an established romantic couple.

Once they actually marry, they stay together.

That part I appreciated. ❤️

Unfortunately, peace is illegal in this household, so naturally we still have approximately 8,000 other relationship problems happening around them.

So Many Couples 😭

This is definitely an ensemble romance.

The five Li sisters all get substantial relationship storylines, which is either the drama’s biggest selling point or the thing that will exhaust you depending on your mood.

For me?

Love the cast but so many couples. 😂

Some pairings are sweeter than others, some are much messier, and there are actual divorces, separations, forced/protective distancing, arranged-marriage chaos, and reconciliation arcs among the supporting couples.

So even though Kang Ning and Chai An are relatively stable once married, the drama as a whole is absolutely NOT relationship-drama-free.

One of the later romances also includes a multi-year physical separation, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes me stare at the screen like:

Was all of that really necessary? 🙄

Still, because the show keeps switching couples, if one romance starts annoying you, another sister will probably arrive five minutes later with a completely different disaster. 😂

Kang Ning + Chai An

These two were my favorite part of the romance side.

Their relationship has:

  • enemies/rivals energy
  • constant arguing
  • jealousy
  • mutual scheming
  • attraction before marriage
  • an actual established marriage
  • affectionate married-couple moments
  • no formal breakup after they become a real couple

Chai An can be ridiculous, but he becomes genuinely devoted to Kang Ning.

And Kang Ning is not some helpless decorative flower waiting for everybody else to solve her problems.

She gives it right back to him.

As she should. 👑

💗 Shen Zhiyi’s Drama Reality Check

Finished all 36 episodes. Full relationship and ending spoilers.

💕 Romance
A LOT. 😂 This drama is basically five romances wearing one trench coat.
🔥 Chemistry
Good overall. Kang Ning and Chai An have especially fun chemistry, and several of the other couples have their own appeal.
💋 Kissing
Moderate. There are proper kisses, but because the romance is spread across multiple couples, no single pairing dominates the kissing department.
🤗 Skinship
Good. Hugging, married-couple affection, jealousy, closeness, and other physical affection appear across the romances.
🌶️ Spiciness / Adult Intimacy
Mild to moderate. Some marriages are clearly physically consummated, but the drama is not explicit.
🚩 ML Red Flag
Depends which husband we are talking about because there are FIVE. 😂 Some of the men make genuinely questionable choices, especially involving control, manipulation, protective distancing, marriage schemes, and other nonsense.
👑 Female Lead Competence
Strong. The Li women are generally outspoken, clever, loyal to one another, and willing to defend themselves and their family.
⏱️ Romance Timing
Good for Kang Ning and Chai An. Their relationship develops early and they marry around Episode 10. Other romances rotate into focus throughout the drama.
❤️‍🔥 Relationship Payoff
Good overall. There are marriages, reconciliations, established relationships, and a big family-centered ending.
💔 Breakup
Main couple: No formal breakup after marriage. Other couples do experience real relationship breakdowns, including divorce.
⏳ Separation / Conflict
Yes. Several couples experience serious conflict or physical separation. The most significant late-drama separation lasts multiple years.
💍 Final Relationship Status
❤️ Happy Ending. Kang Ning and Chai An are married, alive, and together. The principal Li-family romances also receive reconciliatory/happy resolutions.
📖 Plot
Cute family-romance concept with a strong ensemble cast, but the rotating couple structure sometimes makes it feel like several mini-dramas stitched together instead of one focused romance.
🐾 Animal Harm
No significant dog/cat injury or death identified as a notable storyline.
About these assessments

My impressions cover what I watched. Later research is labeled on dropped reviews. Kissing, affection and adult intimacy are separate; coercion does not count as romantic spice. Being apart does not automatically mean a breakup.

Ending Explained

Happy Ending. ❤️

Kang Ning and Chai An end the drama married, alive, and together.

The other major family romances also receive reconciliations or positive resolutions, and the finale brings the Li family back together.

So despite divorces, separations, kidnappings, marriage disasters, and approximately 74 weddings, everybody eventually gets their happily-ever-after. 😂

Final Rating

⭐ 3.5/5

Love the cast but so many couples. 😭😂

I liked the actors, family dynamic, comedy, and several of the romances individually.

I just wish the story had felt a little more focused instead of constantly handing me another couple like I was collecting Pokémon.

Apparently the true Perfect Match was EVERYBODY.
