A PERSONAL VIEWING JOURNAL
🌸 My Review
I think this is the only older woman/younger man drama I actually liked. 😂
Normally this setup is an automatic NO for me, but somehow Love Scenery made it work.
A huge reason is Liang Chen and Lu Jing's relationship. They actually have healthy communication, they support each other, and once they get together, the drama doesn't spend the rest of its time inventing increasingly stupid reasons to break them apart.
Imagine that. Two people dating and actually talking to each other. Revolutionary. 😭😂
🎮 The Story
Liang Chen is a famous singer who is absolutely terrible at gaming. Lu Jing is a university student, gaming expert, and longtime fan of hers.
They become close through gaming before their online and real-life identities fully collide, which gives the first half plenty of flirting, teasing, gaming chaos, and Lu Jing finding excuses to be around her.
The age difference gives Liang Chen some hesitation, but thankfully the drama doesn't turn that into endless hot-cold nonsense.
❤️ Liang Chen & Lu Jing
This couple is why the drama got a 4/5 from me.
Lu Jing is younger, but the drama doesn't make him feel like some helpless baby Liang Chen has to raise. He's intelligent, confident, direct about what he wants, and incredibly supportive of her.
And Liang Chen doesn't spend 20 episodes treating him like a child because he's younger.
THANK YOU. 😭
They actually feel like partners.
🔥 Chemistry, Kissing & Affection
Their chemistry is really good.
The romance takes a little while to become official, but once it gets there, we actually get a relationship instead of the drama ending five minutes after the confession.
They officially become a couple in Episode 20, and we get a proper kiss too.
After that we get kissing, cuddling, lap sitting, flirting, physical affection, and actual couple behavior.
Much better. 😂❤️
The drama understands that becoming a couple should be the beginning of the payoff, not the end of the story.
🗣️ HEALTHY COMMUNICATION?!
This is probably my favorite thing about their relationship.
There is conflict when Liang Chen learns Lu Jing has been considering studying abroad and hadn't told her yet.
She's understandably upset because... sir, that is something your girlfriend should probably know. 🙄
But they do not break up over it.
They deal with it.
Eventually Liang Chen supports him going because she doesn't want their relationship to stop either of them from growing.
THIS is how you do relationship conflict without making me want to throw the television out the window.
💔 Breakup?
NO FORMAL BREAKUP. ❤️
Once Liang Chen and Lu Jing become a couple, they stay together.
There are disagreements and outside problems, but neither of them ends the relationship.
Lu Jing later studies abroad for approximately six months, but they remain committed to each other.
Breakup: No. Temporary separation: Yes — approximately six months for study abroad. Relationship during separation: Still together.
💍 Ending
HAPPY ENDING. ❤️
After Lu Jing's six-month exchange abroad, he returns home.
His plane encounters severe turbulence, giving everyone a scare, but he lands safely.
Lu Jing then proposes to Liang Chen at the airport.
She says YES. 💍😭❤️
There is no on-screen wedding, so their final status is:
Engaged, alive, happy, and together.

💗 Shen Zhiyi’s Drama Reality Check
Finished all 31 episodes. Full relationship and ending spoilers.
- 💕 Romance
- Strong. The romance develops throughout the story and continues well after they become official.
- 🔥 Chemistry
- Very good. Xu Lu and Lin Yi work surprisingly well together, especially considering this is normally an age-gap setup I don't like.
- 💋 Kissing
- Good. Multiple proper kisses with much better payoff after they begin dating.
- 🤗 Skinship
- Good. Hugging, cuddling, lap sitting, touching, flirting, and comfortable physical affection.
- 🌶️ Spiciness / Adult Intimacy
- Moderate for a C-drama. Some heated kissing and obvious attraction, but nothing explicit.
- 🚩 ML Red Flag
- 🟢 Green flag. Lu Jing can be jealous and playful, but he's devoted, supportive, and respects Liang Chen.
- 👑 Female Lead Competence
- Strong. Liang Chen has an established career, makes her own decisions, and doesn't become helpless because she falls in love.
- ⏱️ Romance Timing
- Official in Episode 20 of 31. A little later than ideal, but there is plenty of romantic development beforehand and enough relationship time afterward.
- ❤️🔥 Relationship Payoff
- Very good. We actually get to watch them DATE. What a concept. 😭😂
- 💔 Breakup
- No breakup. ❤️
- ⏳ Separation / Conflict
- Yes. They have conflict over Lu Jing's study-abroad plans and later spend approximately six months geographically separated, but they stay together.
- 💍 Final Relationship Status
- Engaged, alive, together. Happy Ending. ❤️
- 📖 Plot
- Cute and easy to watch. The gaming/anonymous-identity storyline is fun, with the later story focusing more heavily on their careers and relationship.
- 🐾 Animal Harm
- No verified significant animal harm.
About these assessments
My impressions cover what I watched. Later research is labeled on dropped reviews. Kissing, affection and adult intimacy are separate; coercion does not count as romantic spice. Being apart does not automatically mean a breakup.
⭐ Final Thoughts — 4/5
I really liked this one.
And considering I normally do not like older woman/younger man romances, the fact that Love Scenery got a 4/5 from me says a lot. 😂
The biggest reason is Liang Chen and Lu Jing themselves.
Their relationship is affectionate, supportive, surprisingly mature, and most importantly, healthy.
They have problems, but they communicate.
They disagree, but they don't immediately break up.
They support each other's careers.
They actually act like two people who LIKE being together. ❤️
Apparently that's all it takes to make me tolerate the younger-man setup. 😂
Final Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finished Happy Ending — Engaged, Alive & Together ❤️
