China’s National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government co-hosted the 2026 China Radio and Television Premium Content Creation Conference in Beijing. At the November 4 opening, the conference unveiled the second “Beautiful Dramas of China” (剧美中国) Quality Creation Plan recommendation list, featuring 27 television and web dramas.

The selection spans historical drama, fantasy, espionage, and crime. Several projects had already appeared in platform announcements. What’s new on November 4 is their inclusion in the recommendation list.

Xiao Zhan Has Two Upcoming Dramas on the List

Shi Ri Zhong Yan (十日终焉)

Xiao Zhan leads this fantasy adventure adaptation. Tencent Video previously announced the cast and identified itself as a producer alongside Linmon Pictures. The November 4 announcement gives the project another industry spotlight, with a premiere date still to come.

Die Bao Shang Bu Feng Ding (谍报上不封顶)

Xiao Zhan’s second project on the list is an espionage drama. Both titles were already publicly associated with him before the conference.

Cheng Yi Leads Liang Jing Shi Wu Ri (两京十五日)

The historical drama adapts Ma Boyong’s novel of the same name. It previously appeared in iQIYI’s 2026–2027 programming presentation, where Cheng Yi was identified as the lead. The recommendation adds another appearance on an industry stage while viewers wait for a streaming date.

Yang Zi and Ou Hao Star in Yu Lan Hua Kai Jun Zai Lai (玉兰花开君再来)

The drama draws on the life of Dong Zhujun (董竹君). Its October 28 promotional trailer, Half a Lifetime of Storms (半生烟雨), offered an earlier look at Yang Zi and Ou Hao’s project. The story follows a historical woman through a period of social change in modern China.

Five More Highlights From the Recommendation List

  • Tie Zheng (铁证) features Liu Yuning and Sun Honglei. CCTV News announced the crime drama’s first trailer on October 28.
  • Zhan Zheng He Ren (战争和人) features Yu Hewei and Bai Jingting.
  • Wo Zai Dong Bei Dang Jing Cha (我在东北当警察) features Zhang Wanyi.
  • Chun He Zhi Shang (春禾之上) features Dai Xu and Tan Songyun.
  • Jian Lai (剑来) is a fantasy adaptation featuring Wu Lei.

These five titles and the four above are the nine highlights identified in China Youth Net Entertainment’s coverage of the 27-project list.

Does the List Mean All 27 Dramas Will Premiere in 2027?

The conference scheduled a separate 2027 programming showcase. The recommendation announcement itself gives no premiere dates or confirmation of production completion, international streaming, or English subtitles.

If you’ve been waiting to see Cheng Yi back in a historical drama or wondering what Xiao Zhan will do next, there’s plenty here to follow. I’d still rather wait for verified premiere dates before adding another rumored release to an already crowded C-drama calendar.
