A PERSONAL VIEWING JOURNAL

🌸 My Review

💭 My Review

This one is just something. I’ve said enough. 😂

🌸 Plot

Lin Qile, nicknamed Cherry, grows up with a close group of childhood friends and forms a particularly important bond with Jiang Qiaoxi, a gifted but emotionally neglected boy whose parents treat him as a replacement for his deceased older brother.

Their connection follows them from childhood through high school and adulthood, but Jiang Qiaoxi’s family problems, repeated disappearances, and distance make the road to an actual relationship extremely long.

❤️ The Romance

This is childhood-friends-to-lovers, but the official relationship comes very late.

Cherry’s feelings are clearly romantic by the high-school years. She initiates their first kiss after the college entrance exam in Episode 15.

And then Jiang Qiaoxi disappears. 😭

Cherry spends roughly two years without him before finding him again in Hong Kong.

They finally stop circling each other in Episode 21, when Jiang Qiaoxi tells Cherry he wants to be her boyfriend and they officially become a couple.

After that there is no formal breakup. They do have later long-distance time, but they remain together.

💍 Happy Ending?

YES — Happy Ending.

Cherry and Jiang Qiaoxi eventually build a real adult relationship, live together, plan their wedding, and marry in Episode 24.

They end married, alive, and together. ❤️

💗 Shen Zhiyi’s Drama Reality Check

Finished all 24 episodes. Full relationship and ending spoilers.

💕 Romance
Present emotionally throughout, but the actual relationship starts very late.
🔥 Chemistry
Good; the longtime bond helps sell the childhood-friends-to-lovers relationship.
💋 Kissing
Moderate. First kiss in Episode 15 with later romantic affection.
🤗 Skinship
Moderate — hugs, hand-holding, carrying, cuddling, shared-bed intimacy, and couple affection.
🌶️ Spiciness / Adult Intimacy
Low–Moderate. Episode 23 strongly implies adult intimacy but stays restrained.
🚩 ML Red Flag
Medium-High emotionally. Jiang Qiaoxi repeatedly hides things, withdraws, and disappears rather than communicating. His circumstances explain it; they do not make it less exhausting. 😭
👑 Female Lead Competence
Good. Cherry is persistent, independent, emotionally brave, and actively pursues what she wants.
⏱️ Romance Timing
Late. First kiss Episode 15; official couple Episode 21 of 24.
❤️‍🔥 Relationship Payoff
Moderate. The marriage payoff is satisfying, but actual couple time is heavily back-loaded.
💔 Breakup
No formal breakup after they become an established couple. Cherry briefly says she will stop loving him in Episode 21 before he asks her to be his girlfriend; that is not a breakup because they were not dating yet.
⏳ Separation / Conflict
High. Repeated distance and disappearance, especially the roughly two-year separation after Episode 15.
💍 Final Relationship Status
Married, alive, together.
📖 Plot
Coming-of-age, friendship, family trauma, nostalgia, and romance with a lot of relationship interruption.
🐾 Animal Harm
No verified dog/cat death or injury. A stray kitten is cared for safely; there is a dog-chase scene and a finale bird-strike incident involving a plane.
About these assessments

My impressions cover what I watched. Later research is labeled on dropped reviews. Kissing, affection and adult intimacy are separate; coercion does not count as romantic spice. Being apart does not automatically mean a breakup.

⭐ Final Rating

Cherry + Jiang Qiaoxi: married, alive, together.
